How Shrekfest keeps the 20-year legacy of 'Shrek' alive
17 mei 17:35 - In 2014, Grant Duffrin and his friends saw a Facebook event for Shrekfest: a five-day celebration of all things Shrek. It promised an onion eating competition, a roaring contest, and Smash Mouth cover bands. Duffrin was excited to attend, as were the thousands of other people who responded to the event. As Shrekfest drew nearer, Duffrin realized that the event was fake. But now that the idea was in his head, and clearly of interest to a wide range of people, he took matters into his own hands to make it a reality. He planned to incorporate everything advertised on the fake event page into real-life Shrekfest and hold it in Madison, Wisconsin, where fake Shrekfest had been suppose to occur. Netflix's 'Sweet Tooth' trailer makes the apocalypse look magical
17 mei 17:30 - So many TV series and movies deal with the end of human civilization, but this official trailer for Netflix's Sweet Tooth shows a more magical side to the doom and gloom of the apocalypse. In a world where a devastating virus has decimated humanity while a new breed of animal-human hybrid children are hunted, Sweet Tooth follows the story of Gus, a deer boy whose apocalyptic fairy tale takes him across the former United States to meet the strange, wonderful, and not-so-wonderful remnants of society.  Sweet Tooth premieres on Netflix June 4. WarnerMedia and Discovery will join forces in a blockbuster deal that shakes up streaming
17 mei 15:40 - After a weekend of build-up, the rumors are true: The AT&T-owned WarnerMedia is teaming up with Discovery, Inc. to form a streaming entertainment super-group. The Monday morning announcement confirmed that AT&T will receive $43 billion "in a combination of cash, debt securities, and WarnerMedia's retention of certain debt" as part of the deal, with AT&T shareholders claiming a 71 percent stake in the new business while Discovery shareholders will hold the remaining 29 percent. The money and big picture ownership stakes are the only aspects of the deal at this point that can be defined in clear term (and even the announcement notes that some of the numbers may be subject to change). Henry Golding fights, broods, and even speaks in first trailer for G.I. Joe spin-off 'Snake Eyes
17 mei 07:48 - It's not entirely clear who was clamoring for more movies in the G.I. Joe franchise, but if it gives us Henry Golding looking intense while wielding a katana in the rain, it's hard to get mad about it. Snake Eyes is the origin story for the super-mysterious eponymous commando and martial arts master of the G.I. Joe team. Golding (Crazy Rich Asians, A Simple Favor) replaces Ray "Darth Maul" Park, who played the (silent) role in the previous G.I. Joe films.  While this minute-long trailer — more of a teaser, really — doesn't give us much new information about the character, it does give us Golding fighting with a sword on top of a car, fighting with a gun from inside a car, looking concerned while serious men explain things ominously, and contemplating Snake Eyes' trademark visor. He also says some words with his actual mouth at one point, which is definitely something new for the famously mute fellow. Read more...More about G.I. Owen Wilson's Agent Mobius is surprisingly sassy in brand new clip from 'Loki
17 mei 04:40 - In addition to debuting a brand new scene from the upcoming Black Widow film during the MTV Awards on Sunday night, Marvel blessed us doubly with this new clip from the coming-even-sooner Disney+ series Loki. Our favourite not-dead-anymore-or-possibly-not-dead-yet god of mischief will be working — under some duress, it seems — with Agent Mobius of the TVA, or the Time Variance Authority, which has an interest in controlling the ripple effcts of Loki's escape from the standard timeline during Avengers: Endgame's time heist.  It's a brief scene, but it gives us more of a taste of the cheeky buddy-comedy vibes we can look forward to as Owen Wilson's Mobius deals with a pissed-off but arch as ever Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Florence Pugh takes charge in action-packed new clip from 'Black Widow
17 mei 04:12 - Pugh hive, assemble! An exclusive new clip from Marvel's Black Widow aired during the MTV Awards on Sunday night, with fresh footage showing Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) and her old comrade Yelena (Florence Pugh) trying to outrun (or rather outdrive) a mysterious pursuer. While we're used to seeing Natasha take the more action-packed path out of a sticky situation, this scene suggests that her Avenger experience has made her a touch more cautious than her former teammate. (Co-star David Harbour confirmed in a previous interview that Black Widow's standalone film is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, and before Avengers: Infinity War and EndgameObviously.) Yelena fires up and takes the wheel — literally — and it's brief but glorious. Read more...More about Black Widow, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

SNL' revisits the 2020 Michael Jordan doc in this over-the-top deleted scene
16 mei 15:49 - Yeah, Michael Jordan is basketball's greatest of all time, but does anyone realize just how competitive he actually is? Saturday Night Live's latest episode turned to the 2020 ESPN documentary The Last Dance for comedy, with host Keegan-Michael Key playing Jordan in a deleted scene. We watch as Key's Jordan systematically breaks down an elderly security guard (Heidi Gardner) and takes everything from him after losing one (1) match of Quarters. Read more... Want to see Keegan-Michael Key beat the crap out of a Muppet? 'SNL' got you.
16 mei 15:24 - A quick primer on The Muppet Show for anyone who's not familiar: In the original primetime series from the '80s, the characters Statler and Waldorf existed for the sole purpose of heckling Kermit and his friends. Perched in the theater's balcony, the show would break things up between sketches by cutting occasionally to the two old Muppet men as they spat out hammy one-liners. So the schtick in this Saturday Night Live sketch is: What if Statler and Waldorf (voiced here by Beck Bennett and Mikey Day) had a run-in with the theater's bouncers? As Kenan Thompson and host Keegan-Michael Key demonstrate here, it wouldn't go well for them!  Read more...More about Saturday Night Live, Keegan Michael Key, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

SNL' brings out Fauci and CDC actors to explain the new masking guidelines, poorly
16 mei 15:01 - Saturday Night Live took the occasion of newly relaxed masking guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control to bring out Kate McKinnon's Anthony Fauci for a little press conference. For this one, "Fauci" brought along a group of CDC doctors who also have an acting background, staging a series of scenes meant to offer real-world examples of how the new masking guidelines operate in practice. It's a nice idea, except every actor on the stage deeply misunderstood the purpose of the exercise. Instead of offering best practices for continued mask-wearing, the assembled players let their extremely relatable experiences from the past year guide their performances.  Read more...More about Saturday Night Live, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

Too late to help, 'SNL' Weekend Update figured out how to get men to wear masks
16 mei 15:57 - Saturday Night Live's Weekend Updated took on the biggest news in the U.S. this week: The CDC said fully vaccinated people don't need to wear masks in most instances. Hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che spent a few minutes on the shift and COVID news in general.  Che joked that an apparent connection between COVID and erectile dysfunction — and even, umm, genital shrinkage — could get lots of folks to wear masks or get vaccinated.  "Fauci you wan't people to get vaccinated, you need to run with this," Che said. "Forget stop the spread, it should be stop the shrink."  Read more... More about Saturday Night Live, Weekend Update, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

Tiffany Haddish tearfully reflects on the viral moment when she won her Grammy
15 mei 16:24 - When Tiffany Haddish made Grammy history in March, becoming the only the second Black woman to win for Best Comedy Album, after Whoopi Goldberg in 1986, it turned into a whole Moment. That's because Haddish found out while she was filming with a group of kids for her CBS series, Kids Say the Darnedest Things. Her emotional reaction to the news captivated pretty much everyone who saw it. Now, two months later, Haddish is still feeling the power of that moment. Stephen Colbert returned to the viral clip when Haddish appeared alongside Billy Crystal on A Late Show to support their new movie, Here Today.  As the camera cut back to the Grammy winner's video call she was in (joyful) tears once again. Netflix's 'The Woman in the Window' isn't a mystery worth solving
14 mei 16:10 - There's a point in The Woman in the Window when it dawns on Anna, its protagonist, that she might be wrong about what story she's living in. She thought she was witness to disturbing acts of violence within the family across the street. But her mental instability, her alcoholism, and her many prescription pills have others doubting her account, and eventually, she starts to question her own recollections as well. But while Anna's narrative eventually reaches definitive, if not terribly satisfying, answers about what's really been going on this whole time, the movie around her never seems to find that clarity. It's a classy psychological thriller — no, it's a surrealist nightmare. It's an emotional exploration of trauma, or a ridiculous potboiler. It's trash that doesn't know it's trash, except when it seems like maybe it does. Read more...More about Netflix, Amy Adams, Movie Review, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

Army of the Dead' is a gleefully gory good time
14 mei 13:00 - There is nothing subtle about Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead. That is both its strength and its weakness and sometimes, somehow, both at once. It opens on a group of soldiers calling themselves the "Four Horsemen" and carrying an apocalyptic payload, which is unleashed once their vehicle crashes into a dude getting road head from his new bride. One bloody thing leads to another, and the hot-pink opening credits play over a montage of zombie showgirls rampaging through the casinos, of military planes carpet-bombing the Strip, of muscled warriors taking out the undead by slicing them, squashing them, and riddling them with bullets until they're reduced to pulp — all set to the soundtrack of a Liberace impersonator singing "Viva Las Vegas."  Read more...More about Zack Snyder, Movie Review, Army Of The Dead, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

The underwater sci-fi of 'Subnautica: Below Zero' never escapes shallow waters
14 mei 13:00 - I should've died down there. When you're 300 meters below the surface of an alien ocean and your nearest source of oxygen is half that distance away, you turn around when half your air is gone. But I really needed some diamonds, and at long last there it was. So I rolled the dice. With my oxygen supply slipping past the point-of-no-return for safely getting back to my Seatruck submersible, I snatched up a couple of diamond deposits and sped back up toward safe harbor. The calm voice of my suit's AI robot assistant blared its always gentle but chillingly dire warning: "30 seconds of oxygen remaining." Read more...More about Gaming, Entertainment, and Gaming

Seth Rogen talks to Stephen Colbert about calling out Ted Cruz on Twitter
14 mei 11:41 - Seth Rogen calling out Ted Cruz on Twitter isn't a "feud," he told Stephen Colbert, as "feud implies equal ground." The Hollywood star has gained notoriety for confronting the Texas senator on the platform multiple times, notably for Cruz's constant backing up of Trump's baseless allegations of voter fraud that ultimately led to a mob of Trump supporters violently storming the U.S. Capitol, and Cruz's extremely dumb public bemoaning of President Joe Biden's executive order to have the U.S. rejoin the Paris Agreement — among many other things.  Rogen has previously called out people using the word "feud" to describe the situation, and he reiterated this to Colbert while appearing on The Late Show on Thursday.  Read more...More about Ted Cruz, Stephen Colbert, Seth Rogen, Entertainment, and Politics

What is ransomware? Trevor Noah breaks it down in useful explainer.
14 mei 13:09 - If you've been anywhere near the internet lately, you'll probably have heard the term "ransomware" mentioned. You may already be familiar with it. The technique used by hackers — encrypting a victim's devices and demanding a ransom payment to unlock them — was used on the Irish health IT system recently, as well as Colonial Pipeline in the U.S. The latter ended in a $5 million payment being made. But let's back up a minute. How widespread is ransomware, and what are the real-world consequences of its use?  These are the questions Trevor Noah tackled on The Daily Show on Thursday in his segment "If you don't know, now you know," discussing everything from the increasing number of these attacks and the DIY ransomware kits available on the dark web, to the limits on what the government can do to help when private companies get hit by attacks. Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock on why she made a documentary about racism in pop
14 mei 12:49 - Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock has made a BBC Three documentary about racism in the music industry, reflecting on her experiences as a Black woman in pop. "Being a Black girl in the pop industry I do feel like I have a responsibility to speak out," Pinnock begins in a video posted to YouTube by the studio, reflecting on why she chose to make the documentary. "I wanted to speak about my experiences and the way I felt in the band being the Black girl in the band [...] I really wanted to explore why I felt so overlooked, so overshadowed." The documentary, Leigh Anne: Race, Pop, and Power, which also examines the role that colourism plays, features the perspectives of fellow Black female musicians and singer-songwriters including Sugababes star Keisha Buchanan, Alexandra Burke, NAO, and Raye.  Read more...More about Racism, Little Mix, Entertainment, Movies Tv Shows, and Identities

Spontaneous' is the movie for anyone who feels ready to explode
14 mei 12:00 - I am not the first — and I won't be the last — to retrofit pre-pandemic imagined stories to these unprecedented times. But the grief and guts of Spontaneous are uniquely suited to 2021.  In writer-director Brian Duffield's dark romantic comedy, released to limited fanfare last October amid social distancing restrictions, seniors at Covington High School start to explode. Literally. It's the old spontaneous human combustion myth, reimagined as a vehicle for some light horror in an offbeat coming-of-age story.  The film explores consuming existential dread through quirky teen angst (a tried and true combo, if there's ever been one), but with a sadness and sweetness individual to this story. The first 15 minutes of Zack Snyder's 'Army of the Dead' is here, and it's a lot
14 mei 11:26 - Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead is only a week away from landing on Netflix, but if you can't wait that long for the promise of zombie heist mayhem then you can head over to YouTube to catch the first 15 minutes right now. As many post-apocalyptic stories like to do, Army of the Dead starts out with a quick origin tale — a head-on collision with a military convoy freeing a muscular-bound patient zero in the desert — before jumping forward to a very gory zombie attack on the city of Las Vegas. With a cover of Elvis Presley's "Viva Las Vegas" playing in the background, we then see Dave Bautista, Ana de la Raguera and co. shooting their way through a horde of the undead as they struggle to make their way back to a camp of survivors. Spiral: From the Book of Saw' is what horror spinoffs were made for
14 mei 03:35 - Going into Spiral: From the Book of Saw, I was thinking about the kills. But leaving the theater (yes, an actual theater!), blood and guts were the least of my concerns. There was just too much else to be excited about — too much else to haunt my nightmares and post-screening conversations. Based on a story by and starring Chris Rock, Spiral begins with classic Saw fodder: a man strung up by his tongue in a subway tunnel. That man, we learn, is a police detective with a lengthy record of perjury allegations. Will he cut out the tongue that wrongly put innocent people in prison, or is it now him "who will be railroaded?" Yeah, like I said, it's traditional Saw shit, and this idiot is about to get mowed down by a train. Read more...More about Chris Rock, Movie Review, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

The very first look at 'Friends: The Reunion' is here
13 mei 19:25 - HBO Max's Friends: The Reunion (The One Where They Reunite, if you will) hits streaming later this month, and an emotional teaser is here to take you back with the somber notes of that familiar theme song. But as sweet as the teaser is, an HBO press release about the reunion stole the show with its guest list — a whole paragraph of text that includes previous Friends guests (Reese Witherspoon, Tom Selleck) and people who were babies when the show premiered on NBC (Justin Bieber, who is now as old as the characters) joining the main cast (Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc). How 'The Mitchells vs the Machines' harnesses the power of memes
13 mei 19:26 - Welcome to Thanks, I Love It, our series highlighting something onscreen we're obsessed with this week. Netflix's The Mitchells vs. The Machines looks like few other animated films we've seen before, combining CG sleekness with an almost hand-painted texture and then scribbling over all of it with doodles, captions, and surrealist clip art. Yet it's a look that might also feel oddly familiar, at least if you've spent enough time online: With its floating emoji and bouncing GIFs, the film looks a lot like, well, the internet. It's not an accident. "Something that we liked the idea of was taking something really expensive and well-crafted, like an animated film, and then just messing it up," says co-director Jeff Rowe in a Zoom call with Mashable. "Just doodling on top of it, screwing it up, breaking it, bad font choices, that interplay between something really high end and something really human and expressive."  Read more...More about Movies, Netflix, Thanks I Love It, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

The Mandalorian' Season 2 premiere wants to remind you that it's a Star War
30 okt 15:29 - The Mandalorian might be Star Wars canon, but for at least the first season it was Star Wars lite. It was an anthology and a space western and very much a world in which people use droids and fight storm troopers, but it was the most accessible part of a wider universe that some people could never get into otherwise. That all changes with Chapter 9, the first installment in Season 2 that premiered Oct. 30 on Disney+. Now tasked with the custody and return of The Child, our Mandalorian is on the hunt for any clues about the Jedi, and he's certain that other Mandalorians can help. The first he hears of is on a very familiar planet indeed: Tatooine. Read more...More about Star Wars, The Mandalorian, Disney Plus, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

Chicago 10' tells the electric true story behind Aaron Sorkin's Netflix drama
30 okt 11:00 - The Trial of the Chicago 7 is good drama, but I have to wonder at some of the choices writer/director Aaron Sorkin made. The movie is based on a true story but it gets an awful lot of the facts wrong. It plays with the timeline, it assigns certain actions to individuals who didn't do those things, and it leans in more than once on wholly manufactured drama. To me, the actual true story here is far more riveting. That's why you need to go watch Chicago 10. Brett Morgen's 2007 documentary is a movie for people who don't like documentaries. It sews together archival footage with animated courtroom scenes based on the trial transcript and voiced by a star-studded cast, with all of it driven forward by the beat of a soundtrack brimming with hard-charging protest music. There's an energy here that you don't often find in other docs. Read more...More about Movies, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

Ariana Grande releases very horny lyric video aptly titled '34+35' (nice)
30 okt 10:56 - For many of us, 2020 is a year that's brought horniness and sexual frustration in abundance.  Given that art imitates life, it's safe to say the music being released in 2020 is, well, unbelievably horny (see also: "WAP").  Here to throw some more horny energy into the mix is Ariana Grande's new song "34+35" from her sixth album Positions released Friday. The sum in the track's title will likely give you a hint as to just how horny the lyrics will get.  "Can you stay up all night," sings Ariana. "Fuck me til the daylight." The lyrics aren't exactly.....subtle, it's far to say. Take another example: "I don't wanna keep you up, but show me can you keep it up."  Read more...More about Music Video, Ariana Grande, Entertainment, and Music

Little Hope' conjures witchy best for new Dark Pictures game
30 okt 10:30 - Dim the lights, assign your characters, and get ready to miss a shit ton of QTEs. A fresh nightmare from The Dark Pictures is here just in time for Halloween. On Friday, Supermassive Games will release the second installment in its survival horror anthology, inspired by the developer’s 2015 smash hit Until Dawn. Titled Little Hope and set in an abandoned town of the same name, this latest adventure follows a group of college students and their professor after a bus crash leaves them stranded.  It’s part Blair Witch, part Jordan Peele’s Us, and a really great use of first-time video game actor Will Poulter (Midsommar, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch) that’s well worth a playthrough, or even multiple playthroughs, this spooky weekend.  Read more...More about Game Review, Dark Pictures Anthology, Entertainment, and Gaming

YouTuber attacked by flying cheese fondue in spectacular viral video
30 okt 06:20 - YouTuber Tasty Hoon has gone viral with his latest mukbang video, in which his attempt at a cheese fondue went incredibly, hilariously wrong. At least it still seemed to taste good. In the eight-minute clip uploaded on Wednesday and shared over 42,000 times on Twitter, the South Korean YouTuber prepared to enjoy a delicious-looking meal of fried chicken and cheese. It's a common food combination, and many YouTubers before him have pulled it off without incident. Tasty Hoon's downfall, however, was that he attempted to liven up his video by putting the cheese in a fountain. It sounds like an inspired idea — cheese fondue fountains are absolutely a thing, and it would add an interesting visual element to his mise en scene. Unfortunately his cheese wasn't quite liquid enough, and the situation quickly got messy. Read more...More about Food, Cheese, Tasty Food, Tasty Videos, and Mukbang

The Crown' Season 4 trailer brings Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana into the royal mix
29 okt 15:17 - Gillian Anderson is almost unrecognizable as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the first full trailer for Season 4 of Netflix's royal bio-drama The Crown. The trailer sets up parallels and tensions between Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Coleman), which rise alongside Prince Charles' seemingly strained romance with Lady Diana Spencer, the woman the world would come to love as Princess Diana.  The trailer also offers a glimpse of Diana's famous wedding dress, warnings about the marriage from Princess Margaret, and plenty of ominous Thatcher-era glaring across fancy parlors. Yeah, that's The Crown we signed up for. Come through with the good stuff, Season 4. Read more...More about The Crown, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

Netflix's 'Trial 4' docuseries trailer follows one man's fight to prove himself innocent of murder
29 okt 11:43 - "My name is Sean Ellis, and I was wrongly convicted of murder at 19." That's the opening line of the trailer for Netflix's latest true crime documentary series, Trial 4, which tells the story of a Black man's fight for freedom after he was convicted of murdering Boston Police detective John Mulligan in 1993, and sent to prison for 22 years. The trailer cuts between archive footage and more recent interviews, following Ellis as he prepares for a fourth trial in the case. Trial 4 is coming to Netflix on Nov. 11. Read more... Watch Dogs: Legion' review: Freeing London from technofascism
29 okt 11:30 - In Watch Dogs: Legion, there is no one protagonist, no single pair of shoulders upon which the fate of London rests. Instead, there is a collective of everyday dissidents working together under the name DedSec to take down the corrupt and exploitative powers-that-be via hacking.  At first, that idea felt a little grating. Knowing that I’d be playing as a handful of different characters, recruiting new people into DedSec to regrow the hacker collective and hopping between them throughout the game, I was concerned it would make me feel disconnected from the story without a single character to pin my emotions on. Deadpool's woman problem has haunted me for years
29 okt 11:00 - Welcome to Fix It, our weekly series examining projects we love — save for one tiny change we wish we could make. 2016's Deadpool changed the superhero movie game. We're referring, of course, to that brazen R rating, a previously uncharted territory for everyone from Bruce Wayne to Tony Stark (Steve Rogers would never) lest they lose precious box office revenue for their respective overlordsDeadpool set new superhero movie standards for violence, cursing — and sex. Ah yes, the sex. We here at Mashable Entertainment have regularly endorsed the idea that superheroes should fuck more, an idea largely encouraged by Deadpool himself (Ryan Reynolds) paving the way. His relationship with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) is nothing if not wildly sexual from the start, with an entire montage dedicated to their scorching bedroom chemistry while they slowly, inevitably fall in love. It's almost perfect. Read more...More about Star Wars, Deadpool, Fix It, Entertainment, and Star Wars

Netflix's hectic 'Alice in Borderland' trailer sees strangers trapped in a life-or-death game
29 okt 10:34 - Netflix's first teaser for Shinsuke Sato's upcoming Alice in Borderland series, which is based on Haro Aso's Japanese manga, painted a fairly eerie picture of a deserted, post-apocalyptic Tokyo — but the latest trailer is all-out action. In the clip above, strangers are trapped Cube-style in a series of violent life or death games, fed instructions by a mysterious "game master" that they must follow in order to stay alive. The trailer really doesn't skimp on the thrills, either, cramming tigers, fire, guns, and sword-fighting into two very hectic minutes. Alice in Borderland drops on Netflix Oct. 10. The Craft: Legacy' is the sparkly savior your Halloween deserves
28 okt 22:43 - Call the corners, drink of your sisters, slap on a cat-eye, and have at it with the glitter: The Craft: Legacy is here and it’s spectacular.  “Wait, you have good news? For this Halloween?” It’s surprising, I know. In a year rife with misfortune, Blumhouse’s follow-up to The Craft seemed bound for failure.  Of course, revisiting a cult classic is always divisive, but first reactions to writer-director Zoe Lister-Jones’ Craft continuation were especially apprehensive. Concerns over the trailer varied, including "not enough Love Spit Love," "not enough Fairuza Balk," "not enough black," etc. Still, one sentiment appeared universal: Halloween already sucks this year, why ruin The Craft too? Randall's Black rage fatigue is the realest thing 'This Is Us' has ever shown
28 okt 22:10 - There was a lot that could have gone wrong with the Season 5 premiere of This Is Us. This season is set in fall 2020 and its characters are going through the gauntlet of this year alongside its viewers. No one expects a drama TV show to have all the answers to life at the best of times, let alone the literal worst of times, but This Is Us offered viewers something better than answers in its premiere. It offered truth and relatability for its best character, Randall Pearson. This Is Us incorporated coronavirus into their plot mere seconds into the premiere and touched upon familiar covid-era moments to set up the Pearson family’s new normal. Beth and Randall learned Tom Hanks “got it” early on, Randall mentioned that getting personal protective equipment to his constituents was a challenge, and Kevin announced Madison’s pregnancy to Kate from a safe distance. Once those early beats established that This Is Us takes place in the Bad Place (reality), the episode had more space to examine Randall’s stunning personal growth. On Nicole Kidman's fabulous coats in HBO's 'The Undoing
28 okt 18:59 - Welcome to Thanks, I Love It, our series highlighting something onscreen we're obsessed with this week.  Coats are a big deal in New York, more so than in many other places in the country. In cities and towns where car ownership is common, a person puts on their coat, gets in their Subaru or whatever, drives to their intended destination and promptly removes said coat when they get inside. In New York a person puts on their coat, walks down the street among hundreds of strangers, or gets on the subway with dozens more, runs into their ex in front of a gourmet grilled cheese pop-up while people glare at those two coat-wearing weirdos blocking the sidewalk with their awkward small talk, and otherwise performs many “indoor” tasks outside amongst the backdrop of the city that never sleeps.  Read more...More about Hbo, Nicole Kidman, Thanks I Love It, Entertainment, and Movies Tv Shows

Sims 4' new expansion pack finally lets you take your shoes off indoors
28 okt 16:00 - The Sims 4's newest expansion will finally let Sims take off their shoes indoors. It's a fantastic foot forward for Asians everywhere. The Sims 4: Snowy Escape is a slightly misleading name for the high tech dollhouse’s 10th expansion pack, set in the fictional location of Mt. Komorebi. Yes, there’s skiing, snowboarding, mountain vacations, and soothing hot springs. However, a large portion of the pack is dedicated to the arguably more interesting Japanese-themed additions, such as traditional architecture, kotatsu, kimonos, hot pot, bowing in greeting — and taking off your shoes indoors. This isn't only an exciting inclusion for Japanese Sims players, but for numerous other Asian people as wellRemoving your shoes upon entering a home is common practice in numerous Asian cultures, and seeing it added to The Sims is a lovely detail for anyone who grew up barefoot with a pile of shoes by the door. It’s just a shame it will cost Asian Simmers $39.99 to add this integral part of their everyday life to the life simulator, though it’s admittedly thrilling that it’s being added at all.
